Experience & Expertise

Taking the time and effort to do the job right.

Waterfront services Co. is home to some of the most reliable, seasoned, and professional mariners on the inland waterways.  Many of whom are dedicated, long-term employees.  Our mariners have a tremendous amount of knowledge about servicing the needs of our customers.

Each mariner hired or promoted receives extensive training on their role and responsibility as a WFS mariner and is continuously invested in compliance, specialized, and hands-on training.  We believe knowledge creates responsibly and responsibility produces world-class service for our customers and community.

Safe & Efficient Services

Keeping employees, vessels, and cargo safe is a value we hold steadfast.

We think protecting human life is single handedly the most important value a company can give to an individual. Protecting human life consists of safeguarding the safety, security, and health of employees, equipment, and environment of our own, our customers, and our communities’ assets.

We consider safety and accident prevention a primary and fundamental responsibility of each member of our company.  We aim to reach these goals through high standards and continual improvement.

Preferable Fleeting & Location

Location is key

Waterfront Services Co. location is great for barge switching, fleeting, tow building, and barge repairs since the history of inland waterway transportation.

An American Waterway Journal article stated about 80% of all barge traffic in United States passes through this confluence, thus making the confluence a highly strategic location in efficient shifting, turning, fleeting, and repairing of barges in the inland waterway system.

Building Leaders

Our employees are our biggest asset.

Waterfront services Co. believes in building leaders, not only for our organization, but for the inland waterway industry as a whole.

Because of this belief we have created a Master-in-the-Making steersman training program that helps deckhands get the opportunity to earn promotional accreditations to move from the deck to the wheelhouse and many other promotional opportunities.
